What batteries should I use in my sensor?

3 x Lithium AA battery cells should be used for a TankMate sensor wherever possible. These are standard with all with new sensors sold.

Alkaline AA battery cells will also work, however these will have a shorter lifespan. If using alkaline cells, ensure that you have set the battery type to 'Alkaline' in the Settings page - accessed via the TankMate web portal. This ensures that battery life estimates remain accurate.

DO NOT use 'heavy duty' or long-life cells - these will fail after a few days.

Each sensor requires 3 x AA cells, and are easily replaced by unscrewing the 4 small Phillips screws on the underside of the sensor to remove the cover, providing access to the battery holder inside.
