The magnet can be used to manually wake the TankMate sensor without needing to unscrew it from the tank.
To do this, look for the small notch/groove on one of the long sides (see photo 1 attached).
You should place the magnet just above this groove, with the plastic covered end of the magnet in contact with the sensor case (so the metal side is visible to you – see photo 2).
You need to leave the magnet in place for around 10 seconds, then remove it. You won’t hear anything when putting the magnet in place as it powers down the circuit board. However, you should hear a beep when you remove the magnet from the side.
This will cause the sensor to wake up and if it’s configured, it will also take a level reading.
