No, For WiFi connected products, no subscription is required. The TankMate web portal is free, and the mobile App offers both free and premium (paid) features.
The premium app subscription is $29 per year and is charged through the App stores. This charge is per account, NOT per sensor.
The premium features include in-App alerts/notifications, detailed usage statistics, sensor grouping and others.
New users can trial premium features free for 12 months.
To do so, you will need to still subscribe to the premium features (it will check for billing details, but if you are a new TankMate user then it will not bill you).
This done in the mobile App under Settings > Subscription and selecting the Premium option.
For cellular (LTE) sensors, the first 12 months' unlimited data is included with the initial purchase of each sensor.
From the 2nd year onwards, an annual data subscription of $79 per sensor is required, which is charged at the start of each successive year, and this provides another 12 months' unlimited data for that specific sensor.
Users will be charged separately for the LTE subscription, outside of the App store. And multiple sensor subscriptions do not attract a bundle/bulk discount.
The premium features are also included in the LTE annual data subscription price.
