When this happens, it’s possible that the label on the underside of the sensor might need a clean/wipe or that the sensor and tank settings have usually been saved incorrectly or been corrupted by the App.
Firstly, using a damp cloth, wipe clean the sensor label on the underside of the unit to ensure there’s no radar interference.
Secondly, the best way to rectify corrupt settings is by overwriting the tank and sensor settings by changing them slightly, saving the settings, then changing them back and saving again in the App.
You can do this by going to Settings > Sensor / Tank Settings, select the sensor you want to correct from the drop-down list at the top, then
- Check that the settings values are correct (especially focusing on decimal point placement and units of measurement eg mm for Outlet Height)
- Make a note of your original values for Sensor Height, Overflow Height and Outlet Height (you’ll use these values again shortly)
- Change the values slightly for Sensor Height, Overflow Height and Outlet Height and ensure you click the green Save Settings button
- Wait 2 minutes, then push the sensor button briefly, to force it to take a manual reading (it will pull down the amended settings values at the same time)
- Change the Sensor Height, Overflow Height and Outlet Height values back to their original values and ensure you click the green Save Settings button again
- Wait 2 minutes, then push the sensor button briefly, to force it to take a manual reading (it will pull down the “new” settings values at the same time, bringing them back to your original values)
- Check that the reading date and time is correct and that the reading was sent successfully (ie you're not still looking at the old negative reading)
If the above process doesn’t fix it first time, try the full process again as sensor settings may require a second attempt to correct themselves.
