I can't connect to the WiFi R3 via Bluetooth in the App

Modified on Wed, 28 May at 3:17 PM

When first setting up the TankMate R3 WiFi sensor, you'll need to connect to it using the TankMate App and Bluetooth so you can enter and save the WiFi network credentials on the device.

If the sensor slowly flashes a blue light, then it's ready to accept a Bluetooth connection from your phone. This is how it is set at factory, and also what it should default back to when pushing the RESET button for 10 seconds (which clears the WiFi credentials on the sensor).

FAST FLASHING BLUE LIGHT

However, if the sensor has a fast flashing blue light, this is what we call factory mode and won't accept a Bluetooth connection. The fix is very easy:

- Hold the RESET button down for 20-25 seconds, then release. It should now cycle back to the slow blue flashing light, and be ready for a Bluetooth connection.

OTHER THINGS TO DO

If you are still unable to connect via Bluetooth, follow the below steps:

- Check that all phone software updates are downloaded and installed

- Check that you have the latest version of the TankMate App

- Turn Bluetooth OFF, and then back ON

- Check that your phone is on the same 2.4GHz WiFi network that you want to connect the sensor to

FINAL STEPS

If the above steps still don't help, try:

- Reboot your phone, and try connect again

- Uninstall the TankMate App, reboot your phone, and download and install the TankMate App again and log in (your sensor data will not be lost)
